Who put together the Muddy Patriot?.
-Chris Bushart, United States Navy Veteran. During my 8 years on Active Duty I was fortunate enough to travel all over Asia and the Middle East, which made me realize how blessed we are here in America.  I wanted to create a family event that gave people a good reason to get a little crazy, help stimulate job growth by promoting American made goods, and give back to the community. I believe that making shopping a patriotic decision and focusing on the local community will help America remain a great place to work and raise a family. My wife, Brandy and I, have created Muddy Patriot Enterprises, LLC., and have two daughters. This event is a reflection of our love for our children and country. It is in no way a statement of political beliefs or agenda.

Are pets allowed at the Muddy Patriot?
-No. We love pets as much as anyone but no pets allowed on Timber Ridge for this event.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?
-You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. But NO outside alcohol or glass of any kind will be allowed. There will be beer and lots of delicious food for purchase. Timber Ridge also has an ATM available for use.

Race Day Questions
What do I need to bring on Race Day?
-Picture I.D is a must. Dry clothes to change into and a plastic bag for your muddy running gear is recommended. Running in gear that you don't care too much about is also recommended. We are working on having shoe donation boxes set up so you can ditch your shoes and feel good about it. The charity that picked the shoes up during our first event has since ran into financial difficultly and it turns out that taking a few hundred pair of muddy shoes, cleaning them and delivering them to those who need them is not easy to pull off!

What time do I need to show up?
-We recommend you show up 1 hour prior to the start of your heat to be safe, as traffic and getting lost can be unpredictable. Check your confirmation email for your heat start time.

Will there be a way to clean up after the mud run?
-Yes, we will have fresh water rinse stations set up to get you cleaned up. Bring a towel and a change of clothes!

What if there is inclement weather?
-The show must go on! That is our philosophy. Unless there is a lightning, a tornado, or a giant locus swarm...the Muddy Patriot is on! If one of these unlikely events does occur, check our Facebook page. This is by far the best way of communicating to large numbers of people...ahhh technology!

Groupon Info
-Sorry, there will be no Groupon for the Muddy Patriot or the Kalamazoo Muddy Double in 2013. Groupon is a great service but it provides such a small amount of revenue for our organization that it is not sustainable. We have made an effort to set our prices to make the Muddy Patriot affordable for the average family and income earner.
Pre-Race Packet?
-Pre-race packet pick up will be accomplished by simply showing up at least 1 hour prior to the start of your heat at the Timber Ridge Ticket Office. Remember that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or a guardian must sign the waiver to acknowledge the release of claims.
